This infrared image of Tropical Storm Choi-wan was taken from the AIRS instrument aboard NASA's Aqua satellite on Oct. 8 at 3:11 UTC (Oct. 7 11:11 p.m. EDT). The bulk of cold (blue/purple) clouds were northwest of the center.
