Hypertension was defined as the use of antihypertensive medication or BP of ? 140/90 mmHg. A high HbA1c level was defined as an HbA1c value of ? 6.5%. Forty-one participants had a high HbA1c level; 12 had normal BP, and 29 had hypertension. There were 592 participants with a normal HbAc1 level; 271 had normal BP, and 321 had hypertension.
