Mapping Likely Coronavirus Surfaces in 3D (image)

Caption
Researchers are in the field in New York City, capturing highly detailed three-dimensional data on human movements and behaviors -- particularly around medical facilities, public transportation systems, and essential services -- to document the complex landscape of 'surface vectors' and thus opportunities for COVID-19 transmission. The technique updates the 2D technique in use since 1845. Their geo-spacial data will be shared for probabilistic modeling and optimization of municipal containment and mitigation efforts throughout the world.
