Where in 3D New York Might Virus Lurk? (image)

Caption
Researchers are in the field in New York City, capturing highly detailed three-dimensional data on human movements and behaviors â€" particularly around medical facilities, public transportation systems, and essential services â€" to document the complex landscape of “surface vectors†and thus opportunities for COVID-19 transmission. The technique updates the 2D technique in use since 1845. Their geo-spacial data will be shared for probabilistic modeling and optimization of municipal containment and mitigation efforts throughout the world.
