Losing their inhibitions: Cells prefer not to be crowded and stop proliferating once too densely packed. A technique called proximity ligation analysis reveals an interaction between two proteins (YAP and YY1) in the nuclei of human Schwann cells. YAP and YY1, working together, can shut off this behavior. The red dots represent the interaction, nuclei are stained in blue.
