This is accomplished by presenting to students and the general public hands-on science experiments or crafted stage programs that focus on one or two topics of great scientific significance.
The programs are designed to meet the specific needs of each class and involve the audience and consist of a combination of demonstrations and experiments. In addition, a volunteer for Science Theatre gains valuable experience in education, public speaking and teaching and as a result is able to communicate scientific ideas more effectively, both to scientists and non-scientists alike.
Science Theatre also publishes a weekly column in the Lansing State Journal to answer questions about science from the public.
