PSA To Debut At National Oceans Conference

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

A new public service announcement will make its debut at the National Oceans Conference in Monterey June 11 - 12.

The theme of the PSA, narrated by American Oceans Campaign President Ted Danson, is connections.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is sponsoring this 30-second PSA, which is the second in a three-part series entitled: Ocean--The Things You Do.

The PSA points out that not only are small bodies of water connected to the ocean, but each of our actions is connected to the ocean. In the International Year of the Ocean, the message is that each action you take, even changing your car's oil, can have an impact on the ocean. Everything we dispose of has the potential of winding up in the ocean, whether through rainstorm runoff or through direct dumping.

The toll-free number listed in the PSA for more information is 888-4yoto98. Visit the web site at www.yoto98.noaa.gov.
