Tribology And Materials: Challenges For Materials In Automotive Engineering

Friction, lubrication and wear in vehicle design and engineering will be discussed at a conference to be held in Maastricht on 20-22 April 1999. Delegates from the automotive industry and research and development will be able to discuss the latest research findings concerned with the pressing economic and environmental issues presented by tribology in the automotive sector.

This conference is the first in a planned series and will cover issues in:

  • the road vehicle as a tribological entity
  • production / maintenance relationships
  • key issues in lubricants technology
  • materials selection and processing
  • heat treatment and surface engineering
  • accommodating the challenges of new legislation

Sessions will be led by keynote papers with invited case studies from automotive manufacturers.
