With the launch of Quest: A journal of research, technology and scholarly activity at the University of New Orleans, all of these questions will be addressed and much more. The New Battle of New Orleans: A future akin to the fabled sunken city of Atlantis? University scientists examine the catastrophic coastal condition that's leading to: coastal collapse, the breakdown of the Mississippi River Delta and a likely extinction, the Atlantis scenario. The restoration efforts and coastal management solutions of university scientists are highlighted.
Environmental Triumph: University of New Orleans researchers develop a nontoxic weapon that fights corrosion, is environmentally-friendly, and contains no hazardous materials.
UNO Establishes a Research and Technology Park: New Naval Information Technology Center (ITC) to Serve as Anchor Tenant: In the city of jazz, gumbo and Mardi Gras, the university and area partners are positioning New Orleans into the Information Revolution like Henry Ford did Detroit during the Industrial Revolution. The ITC, the software factory and telecommunications link that develops state-of-the-art data management applications for all U.S. military personnel, is currently developing a global information system that will eventually manage all Department of Defense manpower, personnel, and pay data.
