RESTON, VA – March 20, 2002 – The President of the SNMTS has announced the recipients of the organization’s prestigious 2002 SNMTS Fellowship. The 2002 winners are April Mann, (RT(N)), of Hartford Hospital in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Valerie R. Cronin, (CNMT), of Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York.
“We are honoring April and Valerie this year for their significant contributions as certified nuclear medicine technologists to the profession of nuclear medicine,” Mickey L. Clarke, CNMT, SNMTS President stated. “They join an elite group of nuclear medicine professionals who have received this honor, and the leadership of the Technologist Section is very proud of April and Valerie for their respective accomplishments which have earned them this honor,” Clarke said.
Established by the SNMTS National Council in 1995, the Fellowship was created to recognize not only professional excellence, but to acknowledge significant contributions by technologists to the practice of nuclear medicine. Fellowships are awarded at the SNMTS Annual Business Meeting each June during the Society of Nuclear Medicine’s Annual Meeting. SNMTS Fellowship awardees receive a memorial plaque and pin signifying their Fellow status.
2002 SNMTS Fellowship recipient Mann is Manager of the Nuclear Cardiology laboratory at Hartford Hospital in Holyoke, Massachusetts. An active member of the SNMTS since 1996, she is a graduate of an Associates degree in Science from Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Co-2002 SNMTS Fellowship recipient Cronin is Director of Imaging Services at Southtown’s Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York. She has been an active member and volunteer leader in SNMTS since 1983, and a graduate of B.S. from St. Bonaventure University in St. Bonaventure, New York.
