The EPO sets worldwide standards for patent professionals

European Patent Office

Munich/The Hague: Patent professionals from all over Europe will come together in Barcelona on 9-11th December at the second epoline® Annual Conference to learn about the latest developments in on-line patent management and information dissemination. epoline® is the European Patent Office's (EPO) service providing a wide range of electronic products and services for the intellectual property community.

The three-day conference, organised by the EPO, will show delegates how on-line is facilitating the access to the patent system both for professional users and the wider public. epoline® on-line patent filing process and management are making the European patent procedure more efficient, transparent and accessible, while setting new technical standards worldwide in that field.

The conference will consist of three parallel sessions: hands on training for both epoline® on-line patent management and esp@cenet® patent information conducted separately in English, French and German by experienced EPO tutors, seminars on the patent procedure and presentations on the theme "Cutting Edge Issues in Intellectual Property Today".

Representatives from industry and academia, as well as intellectual property specialists and successful private inventors will feature in the sessions. Key speakers will include Mr. Ingo Kober, President of the EPO, Mr. José López Calvo, Director General of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and Mr. John Bambridge, Director of the EPO's epoline® service, amongst others.

The conference will be of particular interest to patent attorneys, their administrative staff and others involved in the protection of Intellectual Property rights.
