Any organization or individual who displays a commitment to statistics and to advancing the role of the media in the science of statistics in public life, and whose communications in any media meets the award criteria as a single presentation or for sustained worthy contributions, is eligible. Communications used to promote the sale of commercial products are not eligible for this award.
The award will be given to commentators, reporters, writers, radio announcers, sports information personnel, promotions and marketing personnel, photographers, or organizations that use communications media as their primary product.
ASA members and media members may nominate an individual or organization for work published, broadcast, or televised during the 12 months ended March 31, 2004.

Winner of the 2004 EISRA will be notified by July 1, 2004 and will be honored with a plaque, proclamation, and $500 prize at a ceremony at the Joint Statistical Meetings in Toronto, Canada, in August, 2004.
