Jackson heads the graduate program in environmental policy studies in the department of chemistry and environmental science at NJIT. Her research focuses on coastal processes on beaches and dunes in estuarine and low wave energy environments. She is currently studying the relationship between beach processes and horseshoe crab reproduction in Delaware Bay.
Her recent work has appeared in journals such as Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Geomorphology, Journal of Waterway, Port, Harbor and Ocean Engineering, and Marine Geology. She serves as an associate editor of Estuaries: An International Journal of Coastal Science and Journal of Coastal Research.
Jackson received her bachelor's degree from Clark University, her master's degree from Antioch New England Graduate School and her doctorate from Rutgers University.
