Dr. Staggers has long been a champion and mentor of adolescents. She has devoted her life to increasing access to quality health care for minorities, particularly adolescents. Dr. Staggers is the director of three health clinics serving adolescents. Last fall, Dr. Staggers and Children's Hospital at Oakland opened a school-based clinic at McClymond's High School in West Oakland that serves as a national model. This safe haven provides students with a host of health and psychological care services as well as afterschool and educational programs. Dr. Staggers will open a second adolescent clinic in at the Youth Uprising site in East Oakland this summer.
