The purpose of the partnership is to enhance the relevance of the UpToDate program for nurse practitioners and increase its use by NPs to help provide the best care to patients. AANP will be providing systematic feedback through the provision of a formal review panel to ensure that the UpToDate program meets the needs of nurse practitioners. UpToDate is an evidence-based information resource that provides practical answers and recommendations to clinical questions at the point of care. UpToDate is also an official educational program of or offered in cooperation with eight other professional medical societies.
AANP also has approved UpToDate as a provider of nurse practitioner continuing education. NPs will be able to accrue continuing education credits by using UpToDate: one hour of researching clinical questions in UpToDate equals 1.2 contact hours of learning.
