The Center of Nutrigenomics of the TU Munich licences Genomatix Microarray Analysis Pipeline

Business Announcement

Genomatix Software GmbH

Genomatix Software GmbH and the The Center of Nutrigenomics of the Technical University Munich signed a multi-year license agreement, giving the Center for Nurtigenomics full access to the Genomatix Microarray Analysis Pipeline.

The Center of Nutrigenomics of the Technical University Munich headed by Prof. Hannelore Daniel is a leading institution of nutrition research. The Center comprises facilities for DNA-microarrays a proteomics lab and is well equipped with technology for metabolite profiling. Hence the Center is optimal equipped for addressing question in the field of nutrigenomics and metabolomics.

"An important focus of our research is the assessment of the interactions of dietary constituents with the genome at the levels of the transcriptome, the proteome and the metabolome in model organisms. We are very glad that we can use the Genomatix data analysis pipeline which starts from microarray raw data and integrates pathway and sequence analysis into a comprehensive biological picture. In addition, we are very happy to establish close contacts to Genomatix and profit from their training and consulting efforts" states Prof. Daniel.

The application of the Genomatix Microarray Analysis Pipeline strongly enhances the identification of significantly changed transcripts and facilitates the generation of the full biological network of involved genes, and allows for functional analysis of the sub-networks most relevant for the experimental set-up. Downstream analysis looks for common promoter organization being responsible for co-regulation of involved genes. Large scale genomic database scanning with such organizational patterns identifies additional genes belonging to a common regulatory environment.

Dr. Martin Seifert, Vice President of Microarray Business at Genomatix stated: "The Center of Nutrigenomics is an excellent institution and we are very proud having won them as customers. Moreover due to our training and consulting efforts I am sure that we will establish a long term relationship which will be very beneficial for both sides."
