Hoboken, N.J., August 29, 2006 – Global publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) today announced they have signed a multi-year agreement to develop and publish Current Protocols in Stem Cell Biology, the first comprehensive source of high-quality methods for isolating, maintaining, and differentiating embryonic and adult stem cells.
Current Protocols in Stem Cell Biology will provide experimental methods established by leading investigators from around the world. Designed to help researchers realize the potential of stem cells for improving human health, the protocols will include basic and emerging technologies for the analysis of stem cells, as well as the processes underlying differentiation and development. Current Protocols in Stem Cell Biology will also include detailed methodologies for isolating, propagating, differentiating, and performing genetic manipulation of stem cells from a variety of organisms, including humans; alternative methodologies for the generation of stem cells; experimental procedures to assist scientists in discovering methods to control differentiation; and promising genomic and proteomic approaches to the study of embryonic development.
