Book Announcement

National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine

How do women and men differ in their commuting patterns? What demographic group is most likely to carpool? And are extreme commutes -- those that take more than 90 minutes – growing? COMMUTING IN AMERICA III, new from the Transportation Research Board, answers these and many other questions and describes commuting patterns in the United States over the past 10 years. The data-rich report analyzes shifts in transportation modes used by Americans for their daily commute and provides information on the increasing number of employees who work from home. The report is authored by Alan Pisarski and is his third report on this topic.
