"These titles complement Wiley's collection of controlled-circulation publications in the life and physical sciences, particularly in the United States, where it expands our reach into dynamic and growing markets," said Vickie Thaw, Vice President and Publisher, John Wiley & Sons, Inc. "We welcome this opportunity to provide practical must-have information to researchers and professionals in the pharmaceutical and food industries."

The three periodicals are: Food Quality, PFQ (Pharmaceutical Formulation & Quality), and Contamination Control.

Food Quality (www.foodquality.com), which premiered in 1994, was the first magazine focused on food safety and quality in the United States. A leading publication for the food industry for over a decade, Food Quality is an American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE) award winner.

PFQ (Pharmaceutical Formulation & Quality) (www.pharmaquality.com), launched in 1997, covers trends and advances in product development, formulation, quality control, regulations, and drug delivery. With readers in North America and Europe, PFQ has developed into one of the leading magazines serving the drug development industry over the past decade. PFQ is another ASBPE award winning publication.

Launched in 2005, Contamination Control (www.contamination-control.com), focuses on the life science industry, covering the technology and methods used to prevent contamination in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices.

Wiley has assumed publication of the three titles, which are available in print and online at no charge to qualified readers.

In addition to the publications, Wiley has also acquired the Carpe Diem name, which will now be known as a Carpe Diem – A Wiley Company. Rick Biros, Founder/President Carpe Diem Communications has joined Wiley as Publisher.
