Oxford, 5 September 2007 - Elsevier, world-leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information products and services is pleased to announce that it will hold the Third International Conference on Engineering Failure Analysis on 13-16 July 2008. International experts will be joining together to discuss the design, manufacture, operation and maintenance of safe and reliable engineering artifacts. Taking place in scenic Sitges, near Barcelona, Spain, the conference will be close to the headquarters of ESIS (European Structural integrity Society).

With recent bridge collapses in Minnesota, USA and China, engineering failure is very much at the forefront of our minds. The Third International Conference on Engineering Failure Analysis will provide a forum for the presentation, advancement and dissemination of failure analysis studies for the benefit of the wider world. Attention will be focused on the pivotal role of failure analysis as an essential management and design tool to help prevent disasters such as these.
