The Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Head and Neck Cancer Center is teaming up with ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP to help fight cancer. The clinical alliance between Mount Sinai and ENT and Allergy Associates, the largest ear, nose and throat, allergy and audiology practice in the tri-state area, together will provide patients with a full spectrum of high quality care, cancer screening and advanced surgical options for patients diagnosed with cancer and other serious ENT conditions.

“Mount Sinai’s new collaboration with ENT and Allergy Associates marks an exciting venture in cancer care outside the city limits,” said Dr. Eric Genden, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology and Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Center at Mount Sinai. “My extraordinary team of head and neck surgeons, neurosurgeons, oncologists, and radiologists at Mount Sinai look forward to offering patients from all over the tri-state area the widest choice of treatments including the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques.”

Mount Sinai and ENT partnership will establish a series of thyroid and head and neck cancer screening centers throughout New York and New Jersey at ENT and Allergy Associates office locations. ENT physicians and Mount Sinai surgeons will work together to promote early detection, proper cancer screening guidelines and provide the latest oncology updates to all ENT physicians. Mount Sinai will offer continuous access for thyroid and head and neck cancer surgeries for all ENT and Allergy, LLP patients.

About Dr. Wayne B. Eisman, president of ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP

Dr. Wayne B. Eisman graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1975. He completed his Internship in General Surgery at New York University including New York University Hospital, the Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital and Bellevue Hospital Medical Center. Subsequently, he served as Resident and Chief resident in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

He has been in the private practice of medicine in White Plains, New York since 1981. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology since 1981 and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery as well as being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is Chairman, Emeritus of the Department of Otolaryngology at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York. He performs most of his surgical procedures at White Plains Hospital. He has particular expertise in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Pediatric Otolaryngology and Head and Neck cancer Surgery. Other areas of expertise include snoring and problems of sleep apnea.

About Dr. Eric Genden, Director of Head and Neck Cancer Program , Mount Sinai

Eric M. Genden, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the Chairman of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery and Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Center at The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. Dr. Genden is a Professor of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery and Immunobiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Washington University, Barnes Hospital. Dr. Genden then completed fellowship training in head and neck oncology and microvascular surgery at The Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Genden is nationally recognized as one of the country’s top head and neck cancer surgeons and is listed as one of America’s Top Head and Neck Surgeons. His expertise in management of oral cancer and reconstruction of the head and neck has contributed to the national reputation for excellence at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Genden is an NIH funded researcher whose laboratory focuses on transplantation of the trachea and larynx. He has gained a national reputation for reconstruction of the airway after recently publishing his experience with tracheal allograft transplantation for long segment airway defects. He has published nearly 100 manuscripts and chapters and is the author and editor of a new book, Head and Neck Cancer- A Multidisciplinary Approach.
