Business Announcement

Norwegian Institute of Public Health

Norhealth is an interactive web-based health information system that has created a knowledge base for health promotion and prevention strategies in Norway. An article about Norhealth has been published in the September issue of Scandinavian Journal of Public Health.

Norhealth is a web-based health information system that monitors health and health-related conditions, including risk- and protective factors, over time. It was developed to create a knowledge base for health promotion and prevention strategies in Norway and is targeted at politicians, decision makers, media, students and health professionals. Users can use the data to create their own tables, graphs, time series, maps and radar diagrams.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health was invited to write about Norhealth as it is regarded as one of the leading public health information systems in Europe (see related links below to read the abstract).

Norhealth will also be presented next month at a conference for health and innovation in Europe, organised by the European Public Health Association. There will be a session focusing on web-based public health knowledge systems in the EU, where Norway, Austria and Germany will present their systems together with the EU system called EUPHIX.
