LOS ANGELES – (Feb. 10, 2009) – In a nationwide survey of medical professionals, 13 physician-scientists from the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed) are among the 5,000 top specialists around the country honored in the upcoming 2009 edition of "America's Top Doctors," a national guide of the top 1 percent of medical professionals in the country.
Castle Connolly, the publisher of "America's Top Doctors," selected 17 additional LA BioMed physician-scientists as among the top doctors in the region and listed them on its website, www.castleconnolly.com.
Castle Connolly said it surveys "tens of thousands of physicians and hospital executives to identify, screen and, ultimately, select those physicians regarded by their peers as leaders – among the very best in their specialties and for specific diseases and techniques."
