AADR presents honorary membership to Congressman Mike Simpson

Grant and Award Announcement

International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research

Alexandria, Va. – In recognition of his long-standing support for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) has extended an honorary membership to Congressman Mike Simpson, D.M.D. (R-Idaho). Congressman Simpson will be recognized at the International Association for Dental Research's (IADR) 87th General Session & Exhibition and AADR's 38th Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida, USA, on April 1, 2009.

From his position on the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Simpson, who began his career as a dentist, has routinely fought for increases to the NIH's budget since his election in 1999. He is an important and visible congressional ally for AADR advocacy efforts. Congressman Simpson is currently serving his fifth term in the House of Representatives.

AADR Honorary Membership is decided by the three most recent living AADR past presidents and given to a person who has made significant contributions to and/or supports dental research. AADR is proud to recognize Congressman Simpson's ardent support for NIH, as well as his commitment to improving the quality of life for Americans through research.
