Alexandria, Va. – The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) announces Dr. Fujio Miura, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo Medical & Dental University in Japan, as the 2009 IADR Distinguished Service Award recipient. Dr. Miura will be recognized at the 87th General Session & Exhibition in Miami, Florida, USA, on April 1, 2009.

The IADR Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual member of IADR for outstanding instances of service to the Association or distinguished service over a period of time. Dr. Miura has been serving as the secretary of the Japanese Association for Dental Research (JADR) for six years. His diligence in introducing the significance of JADR/IADR membership to young investigators in Japan has led to growth in both Associations.

"IADR is pleased to recognize Dr. Miura with the 2009 IADR Distinguished Scientist Award," said IADR President J.M. "Bob" ten Cate. "His contributions to the establishment and increased growth of IADR's Japanese Division make him a worthy recipient of the Distinguished Service Award."
