Los Angeles, CA (November 18, 2010) – SAGE has partnered with Division 35 of the American Psychological Association (APA) to publish Psychology of Women Quarterly (PWQ), the official journal of the Society for the Psychology of Women. The journal is transferring from Wiley-Blackwell to SAGE with the March 2011 issue.

"The Society provides an organizational base for all feminists, women and men of all national origins, who are interested in teaching, research, and practice in the psychology of women," said Jan Yoder, Editor. "By coming to SAGE in our 35th anniversary year, PWQ has realized the dream of its founding editor, Georgia Babladelis, who approached SAGE on behalf of APA's Division 35 in 1976. Publishing in the 21st century is nothing like what Dr. Babladelis imagined, and we are now excited to be partnering with SAGE to put the journal at the cutting edge of technological opportunities that will get our high quality scholarship into the hands of the people who can make good use of it."

PWQ joins SAGE's strong journals portfolio in psychology and gender studies. Highly citied, the journal's 2009 Impact Factor is 1.297 and it is ranked 48 in multidisciplinary psychology; and third in women's studies.

"The Society has created a strong journal that publishes the best in qualitative and quantitative research on women and psychology," said Jayne Marks, SAGE Vice President and Editorial Director, Library Information Group. "We look forward to building on that base and helping to broaden the dissemination of this important scholarship."
