Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology

Bethesda, MD – At its Board of Directors meeting on June 6, The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) voted to accept the membership application of The Histochemical Society (HCS) as the 24th member of the Federation effective July 1. "We are pleased to welcome HCS to the federation," stated FASEB President, Joseph C. LaManna, PhD. "This is a critical time for biomedical research, and we look forward to their contributions to our advocacy agenda."

"FASEB is the organization that legislators, federal agencies, and the media turn to for information on policies related to biomedical science and engineering," said Nancy M. Sawtell, PhD, President of HCS. Founded in 1950, HCS is an organization of scientists dedicated to the development and application of new technologies in molecular pathology and cell biology. HCS is also devoted to providing opportunities to underrepresented groups and young investigators. "A partnership with FASEB and its member societies will amplify our voice in the important policy decisions affecting our field."
