Alexandria, VA – The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce the release of the 'Glossary of Geology, Fifth Edition' (revised) ISBN: 978-0-922152-89-6.

This amazing reference tool draws on the expertise of more than 100 geoscientists representing a range of specialties that reviewed definitions and added new terms. The Glossary contains nearly 40,000 entries, including 3,600 new terms and nearly 13,000 revised definitions from the previous edition published in 2005. In addition to definitions, many entries include background information and aids to syllabication. The revisions represent both advances in scientific thought and changes in usage, and make this 800+ page hardbound a must-have for any Earth science professional or student.

In addition, the Glossary of Geology App for the iPhone and iPad already incorporate all of the updates in this new revision.

The Glossary retails for $99.95 and for $79.96 for members of AGI's member societies.
