PM&R: The Journal of Injury, Function and Rehabilitation Accepted for Coverage in Thomson Reuters' Abstracting and Indexing Database

Philadelphia, PA, August 7, 2012 -- Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, is pleased to announce that PM&R: The Journal of Injury, Function and Rehabilitation, the official scientific journal of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), has been accepted for coverage by Thomson Reuters abstracting and indexing services, including the Journal Citation Reports®.

Abstracting and indexing will begin with Volume 2:1 (2010) in Science Citation Index Expanded, Current Contents®/Clinical Medicine and Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition. The Journal will receive its first Impact Factor in 2013.

The Journal continues to gain recognition for publishing high quality research under the guidance of Editor-in-Chief Stuart M. Weinstein, MD, Clinical Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, and an internationally renowned Editorial Board.

Popularly known as the "Purple Journal," PM&R is a monthly, peer reviewed scholarly journal publishing articles that advance education and impacts the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation. The Journal delivers clinically relevant and evidence-based research and review information, through presenting an array of topics pertinent to physiatrists and practitioners in related medical disciplines, as well as to a wider international readership.

PM&R coverage includes acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders and pain, neurologic conditions involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, rehabilitation of impairments associated with disabilities in adults and children, and neurophysiology and electrodiagnosis. Continuing Medical Education opportunities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit are also offered.
