Springer partners with State Grid Electric Power Research Institute in China

New open access journal strengthens Springer's energy portfolio and its Chinese Library of Science

The Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy presents top-level academic achievements by international researchers and engineers, and endeavors to serve as a bridge between Chinese and global researchers in the power industry. The journal appears quarterly, focusing on modern power systems such as Smart Grid technologies, clean energy integration, clean energy control and protection, and the electricity market.

Professor Yusheng Xue, Honorary President of the SGEPRI and editor-in-chief of the new journal, said, "We are happy to collaborate with Springer in publishing this journal. We believe that the partnership will improve communication in the community of power systems researchers and bring their important topics to the attention of an international audience."

According to Dr. Lu Ye, Editorial Director at Springer's Beijing office, "Power systems and clean energy are timely and challenging research fields for global scientists and governments. We are pleased that the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute has chosen to work with Springer and will fully sponsor the journal using the open access model. I am confident that OA will greatly enhance the visibility of the journal."

The State Grid Electric Power Research Institute is directly affiliated with the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). With its headquarters located in Nanjing, the SGEPRI has established scientific research centers and industrial companies from the fields of energy. The SGEPRI has set up post-doctoral positions on power engineering, and has been authorized to conduct PhD programs jointly with top-level universities in China including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University and Southeast University.
