The Bald Fire began with a lightning strike on July 30, 2014. It is currently at 39,500 acres and is 20% contained. Fire behavior will continue to moderate with cooler, wetter weather. However, instability and winds associated with thunderstorms may negate these effects. Fire could continue to spread north, south and east. As with the Eiler fire, there is a Red Flag Warning for dry lightning at this site as well.
