Public Release:

26th EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics

Media invitation

ECCO-the European CanCer Organisation

Media can register now to attend, or receive news from, the EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from 18-21 November 2014. The Symposium is unique in being THE scientific forum for developing cancer drugs for the future. Understanding the pathways and mechanisms that cause cancer and regulate the biological behaviour of tumour cells has led to the development of numerous new agents, 'designer' diagnostics, prognostic tests, 'smart' drugs, innovative targets for clinical trials and other entirely new ways of tackling cancer.

To bring these developments to patients as quickly and efficiently as possible requires international collaboration, early and optimal exchange of information, good quality translational research, efficient drug development and large prospective clinical trials.

At this Symposium, three of the world's leading cancer organisations:

  • The European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer
  • The USA's National Cancer Institute
  • The American Association for Cancer Research
will join forces in Barcelona on 18-21 November 2014 to provide a platform for presenting recent advances in pre-clinical and clinical research. Around 2,200 international experts in the field will be discussing innovations in drug development, target selection and the impact of new discoveries in molecular biology, while also promoting and developing global partnerships in translational research.

We welcome the media to the Symposium. Every session is open to journalists and registration is free to bona fide media presenting official press credentials, or a letter on headed paper from the editor of the journal/website they represent stating that they are being commissioned to write a report for publication. Copies of the credentials and identification will be requested at the time of registration and when journalists arrive at the Symposium. Business cards are NOT acceptable. Full details can be found in the media policy:

A media centre with international phone and internet connections will be available.

NB: the official language of the symposium is English and all press materials will be in English.
