Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP) and Springer are launching a new English-language book series called Research Series on the Chinese Dream and China's Development Path. The titles in the new book series will present research by Chinese scholars comprehensively and objectively, reflecting the development model of China's success.

The new co-publishing agreement will be officially announced at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair by Prof. Peilin Li, Vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Dr. Heinz Weinheimer, Executive Vice President of Springer Science+Business Media; and Jihui Cai, Marketing Director of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Peilin Li said, "The cooperation between SSAP and Springer will help enhance the development of dialog between Chinese and international scholars. Working together can also create inroads for the Chinese academic system to better access Western mainstream discourse. Furthermore, it will help the world to understand China better, provide 'lessons-learned' guidelines for other countries, and promote a favorable international environment for China's future development."

"SSAP and Springer have cooperated on many excellent books before. Thus, this new cooperation promises to be a successful one, thanks to China's outstanding academics and their growing international views," said Heinz Weinheimer.

The series analyzes and projects China's development path on the basis of 20 years of comprehensive empirical study on every aspect of the country's economy and society. The series comprises six main collections – economy, sociology, politics, law, culture and ecology. The first books, covering economy, sociology, and law, include the titles China's Economic Policy: Target, Achievement, and Challenge, Urbanization in Contemporary China, A Theoretical and Empirical Study on Anti-Poverty with Chinese Characteristics, and Aging of Population and Middle-Income Trap.

Based on the analysis of publishing markets in China and abroad, SSAP has planned an international academic exchange platform in order to fully recognize the influence of Chinese scholars in the field of research on China and to expand their international influence. The project will also help to introduce the new Research Series on the Chinese Dream and China's Development Path to Western universities, thereby helping to bring China's academic achievements into the Western mainstream.
