Public Release:

Latest advances in nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT

ICNC 12 from May 3-5, 2015, in Madrid, Spain

European Society of Cardiology

Sophia Antipolis, 2 April 2015. The latest advances in nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT imaging are set to be announced at the International Conference on Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT (ICNC) 12.

ICNC 12 will be held 3 to 5 May 2015 in Madrid, Spain, at the Hotel Auditorium Madrid. The scientific programme is available here: http://spo.escardio.org/default.aspx?eevtid=1072&showResults=False

Dr Arthur Scholte, joint programme chair, said: "This is the meeting for professionals who want to find out what's happening in the fast paced areas of nuclear cardiology and cardiac computed tomography (CT). The 2.5 day programme will host at least 700 delegates from over 50 countries who will present their work on exciting areas in the field."

Cutting edge scientific research will be revealed by global experts in symposia and an extensive abstract based programme. More than 250 abstracts have been accepted for inclusion in the packed agenda.

Topics include:

  • How to reduce the radiation dose of CT imaging of the heart
  • Visualising the vulnerable plaque with cutting edge imaging techniques
  • Emerging and future applications of hybrid PET/MR cardiovascular imaging
  • Novel use of stress only myocardial perfusion imaging
  • Advances in CT based perfusion imaging
  • New developments in instrumentation and imaging protocols in SPECT, PET and CT imaging.

Journalists will have access to cardiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, physicists, technologists and other healthcare professionals with expertise in this rapidly moving area of cardiology.

ICNC is organised by the Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT section of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), a registered branch of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC), and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM).

Dr Scholte said: "ICNC is the key international scientific event for nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT imaging. Journalists can expect the best and most comprehensive programme attended by specialists from Europe, North America, Asia, South America and Africa. Mark the dates in your calendar and get ready for an unmissable conference."
