What is the best strategy to introduce HVAC design procedures to undergraduates with the aim of promoting understanding of the principles, and competence in their application?

Learning HVAC design procedures directly from professional handbooks is usually difficult for undergraduates who may not possess the necessary background in fundamentals. Principles of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning presents the design procedures in a format that appears as extensions of the material covered in basic courses. Worked examples are used illustrate design procedures in a modular form. The MATLAB programs included help to solve realistic design problems without having to do tedious hand calculations.

The novel aspect of this book is the format used to present the basic principles of HVAC and illustrate their application to design problems, using carefully chosen worked examples. The reader could use the MATLAB codes included to analyse realistic design situations.
