Digital Electronic Circuits: The Comprehensive View helps students as well as practical engineers understand the principles of digital circuits design, and their place and application in microelectronics. The book is used for the "Digital Circuits" course in Holon Institute of Technology (HIT), Israel.

A complete study of digital electronic circuits and systems enables us to understand existing and create novel digital electronic devices for different applications--from storage, to processing and transmission of the information presented in digital form, integrated sensors and control devices, computers and microprocessors. This book gives meaning to those "black boxes" that comprise logic, and the diodes, transistors, and other elements that fill them.

Digital Electronic Circuits is organized as follows: the first part of the book deals with the general definitions, basic parameters characterizing the logic digital circuits, and the transfer function definition. The second part is dedicated to logic families based on the bipolar semiconductor devices. Part three is devoted to the logic families based on the unipolar semiconductor devices and advanced technologies applicable in the field of digital circuits. Part four of the book deals with the analysis and synthesis of digital logic circuits. Basic principles of the synthesis of the combinational logic circuits using CMOS logic, dynamical logic and pass-transistor logic are considered in this part. Part five of the book is devoted to sequential logic, particular to flip-flops, registers and counters, and multivibrators. The last section is dedicated to semiconductor memory architecture and related combinational digital circuits. Each part of the book is accompanied by exercises with full solutions and explanations.
