According to the results of the grant contest in the category "Stability", three representatives of UrFU will receive support. They are Dmitry Tsvetkov (Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics) with the project Fundamental Basics of Creating High-Performance Electrode Materials for Electrochemical Synthesis of Ammonia in a Proton-Conducting Electrolyzer, Dmitry Zaitsev (Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics) with the project Physical Mechanisms of Destruction of Biological Composite Materials with a Hierarchical Structure and Tatyana Kalinina (Institute of Chemical Engineering) with the project "Development of new plant protection products against phytopathogens based on substances with dual functionality". The task of the competition is to support research projects carried out by established research teams consisting mainly of young scientists, under the guidance of a young candidate or doctor of science.
In the competition for the best scientific projects of interdisciplinary fundamental research on the topic "Modern problems of photonics of the infrared range" support will be received by Vladimir Shur (Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics). The task of the competition is to support experimental and theoretical research aimed at obtaining fundamental scientific results in thematic areas formed by the RFBR for the implementation of the Strategy for the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, carried out by scientists on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach.
The category "Antiquities" if featured by the research "The History of Eurasia in the Material Monuments of Antiquity: Traditions and Modern Approaches in Archaeological Research" by Olga Korochkova, Associate Professor of the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of the Ural Institute of Humanities. The task of the grant contest is to support archaeological research projects in Eurasia aimed at studying diverse historical materials and multi-vector phenomena of ancient and medieval cultures in order to obtain new fundamental knowledge, including possible effective response to great challenges, taking into account the interaction between man and nature.
In addition, two representatives of the university Grigory Zyryanov (Institute of Chemical Engineering) and Alexander Popov (Institute of New Materials and Technologies), won grants for organizing Russian and international scientific events.
'These are not standard grants, but new projects of the foundation, that are allocated with relatively large funding for RFBR contests,' says Vladimir Kruzhaev, UrFU Vice-Rector for Science. 'I am very pleased that our scientists are actively participating in such contests. And the amount of grants is becoming more and more significant'.
