Articles in the Antimicrobial Resistance and the Role of Vaccines Special Feature highlight benefits of using vaccines to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), such as reducing the need for antibiotic use, thereby limiting the spread of AMR and avoiding disruptions to the human microbiome caused by antibiotics; qualitative economic analyses suggest that in certain instances, vaccine-based strategies might yield greater returns on investment than antibiotic-centered strategies.
