A study of Zika virus in murine models found that mice injected with a single dose of ZIKV-195, a neutralizing monoclonal antibody, 5 days after viral exposure were protected against the virus; the findings suggest that ZIKV-195 cross-links viral envelope proteins that are critical for viral and cellular membrane fusion, which in turn neutralizes Zika virus, according to the authors.
