A study of small farm dams in Canada's largest agricultural region suggests that the majority of these nutrient-rich waterbodies are net sinks of the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide, challenging previous assumptions and suggesting that farm dams could help reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.
