Nitrous oxide in agricultural reservoirs

Peer-Reviewed Publication

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

A study of small farm dams in Canada's largest agricultural region suggests that the majority of these nutrient-rich waterbodies are net sinks of the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide, challenging previous assumptions and suggesting that farm dams could help reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.

Article #18-20389: "Widespread nitrous oxide undersaturation in farm waterbodies creates an unexpected greenhouse gas sink," by Jackie R. Webb et al.
