Researchers report a kidney transplant risk model that incorporates variable risk of transplant rejection over time as well as data on antigen mismatches between donor and recipient from both kidney donor registries and statistics of probable genetic profiles according to ethnicity and/or nationality; the results suggest that predictions of donor-recipient match can be improved by combining the 2 data sources with partial antigen match data and further improved by integrating immunological knowledge and refined antigen profiling.
