An article in the Arthur M. Sackler Colloquium on the Status and Challenges in Decarbonizing our Energy Landscape discusses current science and needed areas of research for removing carbon from energy sources, which is necessary to avoid the worst consequences of climate change, with emphasis on renewable energy storage and solar energy conversion into electricity or fuels, as well as the need for cross-disciplinary interaction among scientists.
