Genetic analysis of 502 people with severe asthma revealed a variant in the HSD3B1 gene, known to regulate androgen production, that is correlated with resistance to asthma treatment with glucocorticoids, suggesting a potentially personalized approach to the treatment of severe asthma, according to a study.
