Light-induced magnetism modulation

Peer-Reviewed Publication

Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

Researchers report that room temperature illumination of a photosensitive perovskite material, sandwiched with a thin ferromagnetic film, can drive an electronic charge from the perovskite to the ferromagnet and decrease magnetization, suggesting a potential method for rapid modulation of magnetic information in a digital storage medium using visible light.
