Bannan and Zobel receive funding for research team commercial first innovation

Brenda Bannan, Associate Professor, Instructional Technology, College of Education and Human Development, and Julie Zobel, Assistant Vice President, Safety, Emergency, and Enterprise Risk Management, received $200,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for: "Research Team Commercial First Innovation TM a.k.a. Smart Community IoT Innovation (SCITI Labs)." This funding began in March 2020 and will conclude in late June 2020.

This funding will be spent supporting two Mason research teams to conceptualize and produce two research plan documents related to using the Eagle Bank Arena Living Lab. The two experiments are: 1) Chemical Release Monitoring and Modeling and; 2) Enhanced Alert, Warning and Notifications Systems. The work includes submission of two draft plans and two final plans with close out.
