Sleeter Receives Funding For Historical Simulations On Diplomacy
Nathan Sleeter, Research Assistant Professor, Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media (RRCHNM), is directing a project in which RRCHNM will create three classroom simulations based on events from the history of diplomacy for secondary education instructors.
Simulation drafts will include: an introduction to diplomacy, simulation background, simulation scenario, a map, primary resources, fact sheets for stakeholders, tools for negotiating effectively, worksheets, a glossary, ideas for differentiation, additional resources, and a rubric.
Sleeter will submit drafts of simulations to the National Museum of American Diplomacy (NMAD) for review and will make edits to the simulations as requested by NMAD.
RRCHNM will promote the project through blog posts and tweets to the educators who use its Teaching History site and will send email notices to its list of social studies coordinators and K?12/university teachers.
RRCHNM will also promote the new resource on its website, which receives approximately 30 million unique visits annually.

Sleeter received $60,000 from Diplomacy Center Foundation for this project. Funding began February 20, 2020 and will end in late January 2022.
