Lerch receives funding for risk-need-responsivity project

Grant and Award Announcement

George Mason University

Jennifer Lerch, Research Associate, Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence (ACE!), Criminology, Law and Society, received $13,859 from the State of Delaware for a project in which ACE! will provide assistance to the Delaware Department of Corrections in their use of the Risk-Need-Responsivity (RNR) Simulation Tool. The RNR Simulation Tool was developed by ACE! researchers as a case management tool. The Delaware Department of Corrections uses the RNR Simulation Tool to help determine an inmate's needs and match programs provided to address those needs. They also use the RNR Simulation Tool to assess programs used by their agency.

ACE! researchers will provide all-inclusive web user access and use of the RNR Simulation Tool, as well as API user management and support for the RNR Simulation Tool. These services include hosting, user account creation, technical support, data management and back-ups, RNR software updates, bug-fixes, and RNR software maintenance.

Further, ACE! will provide technical assistance, as needed, regarding the RNR Simulation Tool and will provide support via phone and email to address any questions, concerns, or comments the Delaware Department of Corrections may have.

Funding for this work began in April 2020 and will end in late March 2021.
