The International Society for Extracellular Vesicles and Wiley announce open access publishing partnership

Hoboken, N.J --September 17, 2020-- John Wiley and Sons Inc. (NYSE:JWa) (NYSE:JWb) and the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) are pleased to announce their open access publishing partnership for the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles. The journal will transition to the Wiley Online Library platform in the fall of 2020.

Founded by ISEV in 2012 as an open access publication, the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles has established itself as the leading international forum for high-quality extracellular vesicle research.

"Wiley is a leader in open access publishing and ISEV is excited to partner with them to publish the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles," said Prof. Andrew Hill, President of ISEV. "Our vision is to be the leading advocate and guide of extracellular vesicle research, advancing the understanding of extracellular vesicle biology and supporting the scientific community, and our shared vision for the future of the journal was a key factor in entering into this partnership."

All articles will continue to be freely and permanently available online through gold open access to the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles which publishes research that includes:

  • Cellular and molecular mechanisms of extracellular vesicles (EV) in biology and disease
  • Informational database resources such as genomic, lipidomic, proteomic, metabolomic and high-throughput screening data sets
  • EV applications for pharmacological, immunological or genetic therapies

The partnership with ISEV adds a prominent open access biology title to Wiley's life science journal catalogue, with the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles joining more than 150 open access titles that includes Clinical and Translational Science, FASEB Bioadvances and ImmunoMedicine. Wiley continues to sign transitional open access deals with consortia in countries such as Germany, Sweden, the UK and US underscoring the company's commitment to a more open future in scholarly research.
