In this book 'Demystifying COVID-19- understanding of the Disease, its diagnosis and treatment' basic points are discussed from case examples to the main principles followed in diagnosis and treatment, real scenarios in the course of the disease, issues that need attention in specific groups, i.e., those with comorbidities, the elderly, newborns, children, and pregnant women. The spread of the disease in the world and its future predictions also found a place.

The objective is to provide a reference source with up-to-date information on the diagnosis and management of conditions related to COVID-19 and their treatment and resuscitation in the pandemic era.

About the Editor:

Ozgur KARCIOGLU is the chair at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Istanbul Education and Research Hospital. He has served as a founder and a board member of The Emergency Medical Association of Turkey since 1995. He has published more than a hundred and fifty articles in scientific journals in English.

Moreover, he has contributed to five books as an editor and authored around forty chapters. He has published the books Trauma Surgery, Poisoning in the Modern World, Cardiac Diseases and Interventions in 21 st Century, and Emergency Medicine and Trauma, with the collaboration of InTechOpen. His publications have been cited 1360 times so far. His research interests include resuscitation, advanced life support, pain management, airway emergencies, disaster medicine, trauma and toxicology, and lastly, diagnosis and management of COVID-19.
