Shape Reconfigurable Liquid Metal (VIDEO) North Carolina State University This video is under embargo. Please login to access this video. Researchers have shown that the deposition of a surface oxide lowers the surface tension dramatically, causing the metal to change shape. The oxide can also be removed using modest voltages, allowing huge changes in surface tension using low voltages.
